"I wanted to show the strength of our women and the strength of our ancestors that flows through our veins like a sacred current—unbroken, unyielding—reminding us that we are the living proof of their resilience, their fight, and their unshakable spirit."

About the Artist
Ritah Lyons is a silly cartoonist and a wonderful painter who brings a unique blend of humor, heart, and color to everything she creates. She is located in Syracuse, New York, and is apart of the Onondaga nation. With a sketchbook full of quirky characters and canvases that burst with feeling, her work dances between the lighthearted and the deeply expressive.
Whether she’s doodling mischievous creatures or layering brushstrokes into a dreamlike scene, Ritah approaches art with curiosity, joy, and a touch of chaos. Her cartoons are full of charm and wit, while her paintings reveal a more tender, soulful side—often reflecting her love for the absurd, the beautiful, and the in-between.
Driven by instinct and play, Ritah’s style is unmistakably her own: bold, whimsical, and wonderfully human. She believes in not taking life—or art—too seriously, and that’s exactly what makes her work so deeply relatable and delightfully unforgettable.
